Empowering the Elderly to Express Themselves
Communication and swallowing challenges are frequent in aged care facilities, with up to 95% of aging residents experiencing speech, language and swallowing related difficulties. Underlying neurological and psychological issues, along with physiological changes that come with aging, can present a host of challenges for carers.
When aging residents find it difficult to successfully communicate their general needs or problems to their carers, problems can arise. At AHP, we go beyond the traditional treatment approach to offer aged care providers with an extensive range of practical speech pathology treatment plans that address all aspects of speech, language and swallowing disorders concurrently.
Accredited by Speech Pathology Australia, our clinicians are licensed and certified speech-language pathologists with specialised skills in evaluating and treating impaired speech, eating and swallowing disorders as well as a variety of neurological and functional speech difficulties. Our aim is to enhance communication through the safest means possible.

The AHP Difference

The management of mobility and amelioration of pain through massage and movement is an essential part of ensuring the wellbeing of our residents. Working in partnership with Australian Health Professionals has changed the way we use 4B funding for the better physical and mental health of residents, while reducing the risk of injury to staff. It is a pleasure to recommend Australian Health Professionals who work collaboratively with staff or ensure excellent care and revenue optimization.

Feedback from residents and staff has been overwhelmingly positive and communication with management has been the highest standard.
Thank you AHP for making the transition between employers easy and stress free. This is the first time I have used a recruitment agency and I valued your advice and support throughout the process. Your professionalism and interest in my circumstances was appreciated. I have no hesitation in recommending you to colleagues looking for new positions.
We have partnered with Australian Health Professionals for a range of permanent and temporary recruitment assignments; particularly those which are hard to fill or critical to our organisation. We have found Anne and the team very responsive, flexible, customer centric and committed to sourcing in line with our brief. When we find it challenging to source, we do look to AHP to provide support with candidate acquisition.

Our physiotherapy program was implemented by AHP in 2015. Our residents have been given the opportunity to improve their mobility and well-being and equally importantly to learn that physio and activities programs are fun. The improvement in the activity levels of our residents has been fantastic. Another positive aspect of employing AHP is their knowledge of the ACFI system and how physiotherapy services can contribute to an increase in the revenue of an aged care service. Marco Polo is a strong supporter of AHP - as evidenced by the fact that we now have 5 full time allied health staff working across our two facilities - a resource our residents welcome because they feel better because of it.
